WOWWW!!! More glitters: Sally Hansen Rockstar Pink

WOWWW!!! Toen ik deze lak op internet zag wist ik dat ik deze moest hebben. Dus via Ebay deze lak gekocht en nu ben ik verliefd.
( je zal me dit wel vaker horen zeggen, ik ben snel verliefd als het om glitters gaat )

WOWWW!!! When I saw this polish on the internet I knew this was going to be mine. So I bought it on Ebay and now I am in love.

Transparante basis met roze, blauwe, rode en gouden glitters...zwijmel...
Mijn foto's zijn gemaakt op een bewolkte dag, maar toen ik vamiddag in mijn lunchpauze een klein beetje zon zag ben ik even met mijn hand in de zon gaan staan en geloof me, deze lak glittert de pan uit!

Clear base with pink, blue, red and golden glitters...sigh...

Redelijk, de lak is redelijk dik, maar daardoor dekt ie wel weer héél goed. Op deze foto's draag ik twee lagen over één laag Color Club Wild at Heart, maar van die lak zie je niets meer omdat Rockstar Pink volledig dekkend is.

Application
Average, de polish is a bit thick, but it makes the coverage very good. On these pictures I'm wearing two coats over one coat Color Club Wild at Heart, you can't see the Color Club because the Rockstar Pink covers it completely.

Ik had gehoopt op wat meer lente-zon zodat ik nog meer kon genieten van deze lak, maar ik heb er ondanks dat toch heel wat uurtjes verliefd naar gekeken.

I hoped there would be more spring-sun so I could enjoy the polish even more, despite that I spent enough hours looking in love at it.

Applicatie
Geweldig, met één laag heb je al héél veel glitters, met twee lagen zie je bijna je nagel niet meer en met drie lagen zijn je nagels volledig bedenkt met glitters.
Op deze foto's heb ik wel één laag Millennium onder de glitters op, omdat ik niet zeker wist hoe dekkend Nova zou zijn.

Application
Great, with one coat you have a lot of glitters, with two coats you can't see hardly your nails, with three coats your nails are fully covered with glitters.
On these pictures I'm wearing one coat Millennium beneath the glitters, because I didn't know how opaque Nova would be.

Nu de zon weer meer begint te schijnen zal ik nog vaker mijn holo's en glitters tevoorschijn halen. Dus bereid je voor op veel posts met deze schoonheden!

Tag: 10 things that make me happy

A little while ago the lovely Karin from Romika's Nails tagged me for Ten Things that Make Me Happy.
This is such a nice tag and I like that I now have to think about all the things that me me happy so I can choose ten of them. Thinking about things that make me happy already makes me happy! Thank you so much for that Karin!

Here is my list of Ten Things that Make Me Happy
( ofcourse these are in random order and the content of this list can change faster than I change my mani's, there are so many things tht make me happy, I had a hard time choosing only ten )

1. All the people I love. My mother, best friends, boyfriend and ofcourse my sister, they are all wonderful exraordinary persons who make me happy and make my life complete.

2. My lovely cats. A house without cats is not my home. I have two Maine Coons, Azrael and Lilith. Unfortunately my first Maine Coon Lucifer passed away 15 months ago, I still miss him. Azrael is his son, 6 year old, HUGE red boy of 11 kilo (24 lbs). Lilith is new to my home, she's mine since two weeks, 1 year old, very slender gray-black girl of max 3 kilo (8 lbs). Can talk about them for hours, days... so I'll stop now so I can start with nr 3

3. The sun. Oohhh how I love the sun. I love how she feels on my skin, how she makes everything ( and everyone ) look better, she gives me tons of energy and she makes me happy. I especially love the sunny day's I can wear my Ipanema flipflops ( yes flipflops, either you love them or you despise them, ) and show off my bright coloured toenails.

4. My Lowlands-tickets. An hour after I bought my Lowlandstickets it was on the news that the tickets were sold out in a record of time! 60.000 tickets sold in two weeks and there is no line-up yet! I'm so lucky! For the people who don't know Lowlands: it's the biggest 3-day outdoor festival in the Netherlands.

5. My beautiful home. In december 2008 after a very long relationship I moved to my own home. It's a place where I feel happy and at ease. Everything in it has been chosen and bought by me or with the help of people I love. I'm a proud princess in my own little castle.
6. Shopping, especially Sale-shopping. Shopping is great, I enjoy the entire experience and I love it even more when there is discount involved. There's something about knowing you paid (at least) half of the original price, it doesn't feel like you are spending money, no, you saved money!

7. Lazy Sunday. I work full-time, after work I often meet with friends, go to the gym, go to the bar, etc. On sunday I love doing nothing. In the winter I like to spend my Sundays watching movies or play bordgames with the BF, polishing my nails etc. Just stay in home. In the summer I love hanging in the park and have a picknick, have a stroll in the city, doing nothing special but enyoying my freetime.

8. Laughing. Who doesn't enjoy a good laugh? I love to laugh, to have fun with people and an innocent little prank every now and then ( like painting the BF's toes hotpink when he falls asleep ). I can laugh until the tears run down my cheeks. If that doesn't make me happy, I don't know what will.

9. Food and drinks. If possible both at the same time. I enjoy eating with friends, going out to a restaurant or when my BF has prepared a nice meal for me. And with food goes a fine wine, or cocktails, or a beer, or all of them yes, I indulge often in food and drinks.

10. Everyone who reads this. Yes, you make me happy. I'm talking to you. I'm just a girl who likes to talk alot and has a passion for nailpolishes. In this blog I can combine these two and there are actually people who I can share this with. I'm so glad you are here to read my stories and watch the polishes I'm wearing. I have over 50 followers now, thats amazing. Some of you even leave comments to share your opinions with me. That's amazing. That makes me happy.

Giveaway - Who gives my nailfoil a new home?

Dit is een giveaway, ik wil graag een nieuw baasje voor mijn nagelfolie.
Heb je ooit nagelfolie gezien? Oohhh het is zo mooi!!! Het geeft je nagels een waanzinnig folie-effect dat niet is te vergelijken met welke nagellak dan ook. Aangezien ik hou van alles dat glimt moest ik dit proberen.

Have you ever seen nailfoil? Oohhh it's so pretty!!! It gives your nails a foil-effect that can't be compared to any polish on the market. Ofcourse I had to try it for myself, because I love everything shiney.

Oké, aangezien ik deze nagelfolie weggeef zal je begrijpen dat ik er niet succesvol mee was. Dit is geen verrassing, want ik ben ook een putser met Konadden, dus ik denk dat het aan mij ligt. Ik heb alle instructies gevolgd, maar het is me niet gelukt meer dan één mooie nagel te creeëren. Waarschijnlijk heb ik er de vaardigheden en het geduld niet voor.

Okay, because I'm giving my foils away you'll onderstand that it wasn't a succesfull experiment for me. Which shouldn't be a surprise for me as I also suck in Konadding, so I really think it's my fault. I followed all instructions, but I couldn't get more than one beautiful nail with it. I probably lack the skills and patience.

Dus wil je graag mijn nagelfolie hebben en ben je een follower, laat het me weten! Als je geen follower bent mag je het natuurlijk altijd worden.
Ik wil het niet weggooien, ik weet zeker dat er iemand is die hier wel wat moois mee kan maken.
Het is een gebruikt product, maar ik heb er erg weinig van gebruikt. Er zat 1,5 meter folie in ieder busje en ik denk dat ik er nog geen 20 cm van gebruikt heb (Ja ik weet het, ik geef snel op, sst ). Mochten er meer mensen geïnteresseerd zijn dan zal ik er willekeurig één kiezen.

It's a used product, but I used very little of it. There was 1,5 meter (60 inch) of foil in each can, I guess I only used 20 cm (8 inch) of them. (yes I know I'm a quitter, shhh). If there are more people interested in the foil I will randomly choose one.

China Glaze - Something Sweet with a little Millennium

Dit weekend wilde ik een lichte, maar toch opvallende nagellak op. Dus koos ik voor China Glaze Something Sweet uit de Up&Away Collectie. Toen ik 'm op had vond ik het toch niet zo goed bij me passen en ik was te lui om helemaal overnieuw te lakken, dus heb ik er met Millennium een french van gemaakt. Uitendelijk vond ik het erg leuk geworden.

This weekend I wanted a light colour that still stands out. So I chose China Glaze Something Sweet from the Up&Away collection. When I had a full mani with it, I decided I didn't like it on me. I was too lazy to do the whole mani over so I made a french of it with Millennium. I liked the end result.
Kleur
Licht roze creme. Het is een pastel, maar toch zit er ook wel pit in.

Colour
Licht pink creme. It's a pastel, but it does have some spunk in it.
Applicatie
Dit is niet een lakje dat je even snel opdoet. Het is een dunne lak en het geeft snel een streperig resultaat. Voor een glad resultaat kan je het beste 3 dunne lagen opdoen, tussendoor de lagen laten drogen en aflakken met een laag topcoat.

Application
This is not a polish you just put on quickly. It's runny and it gets streeky very fast. For a smooth result I advise you to put on three very thin layers, let the polish dry in between and finish with a nice topcoat.
Het stickertje met de tribal is een overblijfsel van de jaren 90. Dit droeg ik toen ik nog op de middelbare school zat ( au, dat is lang geleden! ).
Ik heb deze mani gedragen van vrijdagavond tot maandagavond en had maar een klein beetje tipwear.

The decal with the tribal is a left-over from the 90's. I wore this when I was still in highschool ( ouch, that's a long time ago ).
I wore this mani from friday evening until monday evening and only had some slight tipwear.

Kiko polish nr 266 and a comparison with Misa

In december zijn mijn moeder en ik naar de kerstmarkt in Oberhausen geweest. Dat vindt plaats aan een groot winkelcentrum waarin een winkel zit die allemaal producten van het Italiaanse cosmetica merk Kiko verkoopt. Daar heb ik een paar lakjes gekocht, waaronder deze prachtige blauwe lak.

In december my mother and I went to the Christmas-markets in Oberhausen (Germany). This is next to a big shoppingmall in which is a shop that sells cosmetics from the Italian brand Kiko. I bought some polishes there, this beautiful blue is one of those.

Kleur
Donker blauw met shimmer. Het is een diepe, maar wel hele heldere kleur blauw.

Colour
Dark blue with shimmer. I's a deep, but very bright blue.

Applicatie
Prima applicatie, de lak smeert fijn. Met de eerste laag lijkt de lak erg dun en dacht ik 'ohoh gaat dit nog wel goedkomen?'. Ja, dat komt goed, maar ik had wel 3 lagen nodig om dit resultaat te krijgen.

Application
Good application, the polish goes on nice. With the firs coat the polish seems very sheer, I thought 'Ohoh will this come out fine?'. Yes it will, but I did need 3 coats for this result.
Terwijl ik mijn nagels aan het lakken was dacht ik ineens dat de lak leek op Misa A Sin Worth Committing. Dus na het maken van bovenstaande foto's heb ik de lak van mijn wijs- en ringvinger gehaald en heb daar Misa op geswatched.

While polishing my nails I started thinking it looked similar to Misa A Sin Worth Committing, so after taking pictures I removed the Kiko from my index- and ring finger and swatched Misa on them.

Middelvinger en pink / Middlefinger and pinky: Kiko nr 266

Zoals je ziet lijken ze wel op elkaar, maar ze zijn absoluut niet hetzelfde. Misa is iets donkerder met meer opvallende shimmer. Ik vind ze allebei erg mooi, maar ze liggen zo dicht bij elkaar dat ik ze eigenlijk niet allebei nodig heb.

As you can see they look very similar, but they are absolutely not dupes. Misa is a bit darker with more obvious shimmer. I like them both, but they are so similar that I actually don't need them both.

My first matte: Orly - Iron Butterfly

Ruim een week geleden ging ik op zondagavond naar Alice in Wonderland. Natuurlijk had ik mijn OPI Mad as a Hatter op moeten doen, maar ik was slecht voorbereid, de film draaide erg vroeg en uiteindelijk moest ik héél snel mijn nagels lakken. Dus besloot ik mijn eerste matte lak te proberen: Orly Iron Butterfly.

Sunday over a week ago I went to see Alice In Wonderland. I know I should've worn OPI's Mad as a Hatter, but I was ill-prepared, the movie started earlier as expected so I had to do a quick mani. So I decided to try out my first matte polish: Orly Iron Butterfly.

Kleur
Mat zwart met heel veel hele fijne zilveren glittertjes.
Ik vond het heel mooi, maar moest wel wennen aan de matte finish. Als ik ernaar keek dan had ik steeds het gevoel dat er iets miste, dat mn manicure nog niet af was ofzo.

Colour
Matte black with lots of small silver glitter in it.
It's pretty, but I have to get used to the matte finish. Every time I looked at it I felt like something was missing, like the mani wasn't complete or something


Applicatie
Als een droom, één laag is vrijwel dekkend, met twee lagen is het perfect. Droogtijd is geweldig: een minuutje per laag.

Application
it applies like a dream, one coat gives you almost full coverage, with two coats you have a perfect opaque result. Drying time is amazing: one minute per coat.


Commentaar
Binnen een dag was de lak vreselijk beschadigd. Er waren stukken lak op het midden van meerdere nagels eraf gekrast, misschien gebeurd toen ik iets uit mijn tas pakte? Je mag natuurlijk geen topcoat over de matte lak dragen dus dacht ik wel dat het sneller zou beschadigen, maar dit was wel erg overdreven. Misschien heeft dat te maken met de speciale formule van matte lak? Volgende keer toch maar een lekkere dikke laag glossy topcoat eroverheen.

Comments:
Within a day the polish was terribly damaged. Pieces of polish were scratched off on the middle of some nails, maybe this happened while grabbing something out my bag? You are not supposed to wear topcoat over matte polish, so I was aware that the polish would chip quicker, but it was much worse then I expected. Maybe it also has to do something with the formula of matte polish?
Maybe next time I wear this polish I'll wear it with a nice thick layer of glossy polish.

PS- Alice in Wonderland is een hele leuke film. Ik ben groot fan van alle films die Tim Burton maakt dus ik ben bevooroordeeld, maar ik raad iedereen aan om de film te gaan kijken.

PS- Alice in Wonderland is a really good movie. I'm a big fan of all movies made by Tim Burton, so I am predjudiced, but I advise everyone to go see this movie.

Coming soon: Misa Mardi Gras Collection

Vrijwel alle grote nagellak merken hebben al één of meerdere lente collecies uit en ze zijn weer prachtig. Ik ben zelf groot fan van het merk Misa, maar hun nieuwe collectie is nog nergens te krijgen. Brooke van Getcha Nails Did kwam erachter dat Misa problemen had met de leverancier van hun verpakkingsmaterialen. Ik denk dat deze problemen opgelost zijn want ik heb bericht gekregen dat de nieuwe collectie eraan komt! Omdat me zo verheug op deze collectie laat ik jullie hierbij alvast een preview zien:

Almost all major nailpolish brands have their spring collections on the market and I'm loving all of them. I'm a big Misa-fan, but their latest collection isn't on the market yet. Brooke from Getcha Nails Did found out they had a problem with their packaging compan. I think they solved that problem for I received notice about their upcoming collection! Because I'm really looking forward to this collection I'm giving you a preview:

Het zijn allemaal vrolijke kleuren en het ziet ernaar uit dat ik er zeker een paar zal kopen. Ik kan nog niets vinden of het allemaal crèmes zijn of shimmers of misschien wel duochrome. Hopelijk zijn er snel swatches te vinden online.

On fire! Hema Long Lasting Nailpolish nr 84

Vorige week heb ik een paar Hema nagellaken gekocht. Het was lang geleden dat ik daar wat lakken gekocht heb, maar ik kwam erachter dat er wat hele leuke kleurtjes tussen zitten.

Jammer dat alles in zo'n inspiratieloze verpakking zit en de lakken geen naam maar een nummer hebben, maar daar zie je uiteraard helemaal niets van als je de lak draagt.

Last week I bought a couple of polishes from the Dutch drugstore called Hema. It had been a long time I bought their polishes, but I found out they have some really nice colours. They only thing I don't like are the dull bottles and that the polishes are numbered in stead of named. Ofcourse none of those things are visible when you are wearing the polish.

Kleur

Oranje met gouden shimmer. De oranje kleur is vrij warm, met die gouden shimmer erin krijgt de kleur een boel diepte en vind ik het er echt vlammend uitzien. Het lijkt alsof je nagels in brand staan!

Colour
Orange with golden shimmer. It's a warm orange colour, the golden shimmer gives depth to the polish and gives it a flaming appearance. It looks like your nails are on fire!

Applicatie

Goede applicatie, de lak is vrij dun dus er zijn wel meerdere lagen nodig voor een gedekt resultaat. Op deze foto's draag ik drie lagen en op de foto zie je mijn nagels er nog doorheen, maar in het echt valt dat bijna niet op.

Application

Good application, the polish is a bit sheer so you'll need multiple layers for good coverage. On these pictures I'm wearing 3 coats and on the pictures you can see my nailline, but in real life that's hardly noticable.

Dus een leuke lak voor een leuke prijs. Terwijl ik dit schrijf vraag ik me af hoe deze eruit ziet over rood, misschien probeer ik dat binnenkort nog een keer.

So it's a nice polish for a nice price. While writing this review I'm wondering how this polish looks layered over red, maybe I'll try this soon.

OPI - Dim Sum Plum

Deze week droeg ik Dim Sum Plum uit de nieuwe OPI Hong Kong collectie. Ik had veel afspraken deze week en geen tijd om tussendoor uitgebreid mijn nagels te lakken, dus koos ik voor deze lak van OPI omdat hun lak meestal heel lang mooi blijft zitten. Helaas had ik een beetje pech...
Kleur
Roze creme, een beetje paars, erg mooie kleur. Ik was helemaal verrast toen ik zag hoe ontzettend goed deze kleur bij mij paste, ik vind het een hele flatterende kleur die geschikt is voor werk maar ook voor een feestje.
Applicatie
Slecht, ik denk dat ik een verkeerd potje heb gekregen ofzo, de lak was dik, stroperig en ik had heel veel problemen om 'm gelijkmatig aan te brengen. Met twee laagjes was het een dik klonterig resultaat, na een derde laag Dim sum Plum én een laag Seche Vite trok dat bij.
Na de eerste dag begon de lak al te chippen en de drie dagen dat ik 'm droeg moest ik dagelijks bijwerken. Na 3 dagen moest ik het eraf halen omdat de chips te groot werden om bij te werken. Ben ik helemaal niet gewend van OPI. Ik heb even gekeken hoe de reviews van andere bloggers was en zij hadden wel een normale lak.
Misschien moet ik Seche Restore kopen en voor dit potje gebruiken.
Dus het is een prachtige kleur, heeft van zichzelf een prachtige glans, maar jammer van de applicatie.

This week I wore Dim Sum Plum from the new OPI Hong Kong collection. I had alot of appointments this week and no time to do a full manicure in between. So I chose for this OPI polish because OPI polishes usually stay on long. Unfortunately I wasn't that lucky this time...

Colour
Pink creme, slightly purple, very nice colour. I was suprised when I saw how great this colour looked on me, it's a very flattering colour which is suitable for work and also for a party.

Application
Bad, I think I received a wrong bottle, the polish was thick like glue and it was very hard to get a smooth result. With two coats it looked lumpy on my nails, a third coat and a coat Seche Vite made it more even.
On the first day the polish started chipping, in the three days I wore it I had to do touch-ups every day. After three days I had to remove the polish because the chipping was too big to cover it up with a touch-up. This is not what I'm used to from OPI. I've checked other blogger reviews and they had no problems with this polish.
Maybe I should buy Seche Restore for this bottle.

So it's a lovely colour, it is also very glossy, pity the application was that bad.

Misa - Disco Queen

Ik hou van glitters. De allereerste nagellak die ik zelf kocht was een glitterlak en ik was er zielsgelukkig mee. En na ruim 15 jaar ben ik nog steeds vreselijk blij met iedere nieuwe lak met glitters.
Afgelopen vrijdag had ik een feestje en daarom leek Misa Disco Queen met haar gouden glitters me een geschikte keuze!

I love glitters. The first nailpolish I bought was a glitterpolish and I was very happy with it. After more then 15 years I still get excited about a new polish with glitters.
Last friday I had a party and Misa Disco Queen with her golden glitter seemed an appropriate choise!

Kleur
Goud! Geelgoud, niet subtiel maar echt "Wham! Pow! Jij wilde toch goud, hier heb je goud!"
Door de vele kleine glitters ziet de lak er iets grover uit. Dat gaf een bijzondere look, het leek een beetje op geborsteld goud, ik vond het niet nodig om er topcoat overheen te doen ( klik op de foto om het beter te zien )

Colour
Gold! Yellowgold, not subtle but really "Wham! Pow! You wanted gold, here you have it!"
The many small glitters make the polish look a bit rough. It gave a special look to the polish, it looked like brushed gold, I liked it and didn't use a topcoat ( click picture so you can see better what I mean )

Applicatie
Wat denk je zelf, we hebben het over Misa, het merk met de fijnste applicatie ooit...
De glitters zijn heel klein en er zitten er zo veel in dat je met 2 tot 3 lagen een volledig gedekt resultaat hebt. Ik draag 3 lagen. Supersnelle droogtijd.

Come on, we are talking about Misa, the brand with the nicest application ever...
The glitters are small and very dense, you have opacity in just 2 or 3 coats. I'm wearing 3 coats. Superfast drytime.

Ik vind het zelf een erg mooie lak, omdat de glitters heel fijn zijn krijgen je nagels een hele bijzonder metallic-look. Oh en het was een heel leuk feestje en ik voelde me een echte Disco Queen.

I really like this polish, because the glitter is very small your nails get a nice particular metallic-look. Oh and the party was great and I felt like a real Disco Queen.
